Dr. Lori MacDougall is a board-certified small animal surgeon with more than 20 years of experience performing advanced surgical procedures. A founding partner of Veterinary Specialists of Greater Atlanta, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, thorough care while ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of pain management and surgical excellence.
Dr. MacDougall earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Canada, where she also completed a residency in small animal surgery and earned a Master of Veterinary Science. She went on to achieve board certification with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Her advanced training also includes internships in surgery, critical care, and small animal medicine at leading veterinary institutions in the U.S. and Canada.
Since 2006, Dr. MacDougall has served the greater Atlanta veterinary community as a specialist in soft tissue, orthopedic, and emergency surgery. She has also contributed to the advancement of veterinary medicine as a lecturer, mentor, and published researcher. Her areas of special interest are laser-assisted surgeries (including brachycephalic airway surgeries), oncologic surgeries, and innovative approaches to pain management.
At Veterinary Specialists of Greater Atlanta, Dr. MacDougall takes pride in combining her surgical expertise with a team-based approach, working closely with fellow specialists to deliver comprehensive care.
