We each have over 20 years of experience in our areas of specialty and have been providing specialty veterinary care for companion animals in the Greater Atlanta area for many years. By combining our expertise and common mission to provide the best care for Atlanta’s pets, VSGA is the premier veterinary specialty care hospital.

Stacy Andrew, DVM, DACVO

Dr. Stacy Andrew is a New England native. She attended the University of Vermont as an undergraduate student and graduated with a BS in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. She completed veterinary school at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, and then a rotating internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. Following that, Dr. Andrew completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (UFCVM). The 3 years of residency training included high volume exposure to state-of-the-art ophthalmic procedures. After completion of the residency program, she was appointed as an assistant professor at the UFCVM and was responsible for teaching veterinary students and residents. She moved to Atlanta in 2003 and has practiced here since then. Dr. Andrew was elected president of The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2019. Her non-work time is spent traveling, gardening and trying to wrangle the foster fails – two Frenchies and a Pittie.

Alan Cross, DVM, DACVS

Dr. Alan Cross is a widely respected orthopedic surgeon with a passion for excellence. He is actively involved in clinical research and has authored over 50 publications in veterinary medicine. He frequently speaks internationally on cutting-edge topics in veterinary orthopedic surgery. Alan began his training at Vanderbilt University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He then obtained his veterinary degree at the University of Tennessee. After completing an internship and residency program in small animal surgery at the University of Georgia, he became board certified in veterinary surgery. He then spent six years as faculty at the University of Florida where he ran a biomechanics research lab, taught veterinary students, interns, and residents, and developed an international reputation in small animal orthopedic clinical research and surgery. Dr. Cross has been practicing in the Atlanta area for the last 20 years and remains passionate about helping animals with orthopedic issues. When not at work you can probably find him creating something in his workshop or racing a car on a track around the southeast.

Lori MacDougall, DVM, DACVS, MVSc

Dr. Lori MacDougall grew up in Western Canada and completed veterinary school at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in 2001. She undertook a rotating internship at Washington State University, followed by a surgery/critical care internship in private practice in Calgary, Alberta. She then returned to WCVM to complete a three-year small animal surgery residency and a Master of Veterinary Science in 2006. Seeking warmer winters, she moved to Atlanta, GA with her husband in 2006. For the past 18 years, she has been honing her skills and saving lives in the Atlanta area. As the caseload evolved, she shifted her focus from general orthopedic and soft tissue surgery to exclusively soft tissue surgery. Utilizing CO2 laser technology where possible and a collaborative approach for optimal patient care, she is dedicated to innovative solutions that prioritize pain management and recovery. Outside of work, she stays busy with her family including two kids, one dog, and two cats. You can find her lifting in the gym, walking the dog, baking, or cheering on her kids in their sports.

Gustavo Sepulveda, MS, DVM, DACVR

Dr. Gustavo Sepulveda is originally from Puerto Rico where he obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He pursued his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and subsequently, completed a 1-year Internship and a 3-year Radiology residency at Michigan State University. After completing his residency, he served as an assistant professor at Michigan State University for 1 year before moving to the Atlanta area. He developed a productive and efficient diagnostic imaging department in a specialty practice in the Atlanta area where he worked for 18 years. Concurrently in the last 3 years, he has established a very busy telemedicine company with clients nationwide as well as in Canada. After many years in clinical practice, he is still very passionate about the use of diagnostic imaging to figure out an accurate diagnosis that helps develop a sensible treatment plan. He enjoys every aspect of diagnostic imaging especially the collaboration between veterinarians and staff members to ensure the best outcome.

Tom Walker, DVM, DACVECC

Dr. Tom Walker is a board-certified emergency and critical care veterinarian. His professional education started with a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Florida. He then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and obtained a Veterinary Degree (DVM) in 2001. He went on to do an internship at the University of Saskatchewan and an Emergency Critical Care Residency at Tufts University obtaining Emergency and Critical Care diplomat status (DACVECC) in 2005. After working a few years at a Tufts University satellite facility, he returned to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine to teach until 2013. Since 2013 Dr. Walker has been working in Atlanta as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dr. Walker is also a veterinarian in the US Army Reserve and was deployed to the Middle east for most of 2022. Dr. Walker has a passion for animals, in particular working dogs but also for pets of owners that have experienced unexpected emergencies. Dr. Walker also enjoys teaching veterinarians in private practice and military settings. Out of work Dr. Walker enjoys riding horses, jujitsu, water sport and spending time with his family.
