Dr. Erin Cletzer grew up in Vermont and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University, followed by a rotating internship at Tufts University. Dr. Cletzer then pursued advanced training in oncology at Virginia Tech, where she completed both an internship and residency and earned a master’s degree in biomedical and veterinary sciences.

Since completing her residency, Dr. Cletzer has practiced in the St. Louis area, where she has been part of a large specialty and emergency hospital team since 2017.

A board-certified veterinary oncologist, Dr. Cletzer’s clinical interests include lymphoma, histiocytic sarcoma, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. She is dedicated to helping families navigate a cancer diagnosis with compassion, honesty, and hope. Dr. Cletzer values creating individualized treatment plans that balance advanced medicine with each family’s unique goals, always striving to improve both quality of life and the time pets share with their loved ones.

Outside of work, Dr. Cletzer enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter, attending sporting events, and relaxing with a good book. She shares her home with a sweet gray tabby cat adopted from Tufts—who has traveled all over the eastern United States with her—and a Boston Terrier she proudly calls “the best dog ever.”
